Aamir Khan has always done things his own way, and his wedding attire reflected that individuality. Be it his nose ring look or wearing a hairband and kurtas, the actor has never succumed to any fashion trends and has his own sense of style, which is what sets him apart. Aamir tied the knot with Gauri Spratt in an intimate ceremony at his Bandra residence on July 5. While the couple turned heads in coordinated traditional ensembles, it wasn’t just Aamir’s ivory dhoti-kurta or the elegant brooch on his chest that drew attention. What truly caught the internet’s eye was his unconventional accessory, a chunky silver anklet (payal). Aamir was seen wearing a very heavy payal, like women do, at his wedding and this was seen when he came outside his house to see off Raj Thackeray. Sharp-eyed fans noticed the heavy anklet peeking out from beneath Aamir’s dhoti in videos from the ceremony, and it quickly became one of the most-discussed elements of his wedding look. For the occasion, Aamir opted for a simple ivory dhoti-kurta paired with a statement brooch pinned to the left side of his chest, keeping the rest of his styling understated. Gauri Spratt complemented him in a gold-ivory toned lehenga featuring a full-sleeved blouse with intricate cutwork over sheer net fabric. She styled her dupatta over one shoulder and wore her side-parted hair in a braid adorned with fresh flowers. Her bridal look was completed with layered necklaces, a choker and matching statement earrings. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan shared a glimpse of the wedding celebrations on Instagram. The video captured Aamir and Gauri exchanging vows before breaking into a dance surrounded by close family and friends. During the performance, Aamir warmly embraced Gauri and kissed her.Sharing the clip, Irfan wrote, “Dear Aamir Bhai & Gauri, heartiest congratulations on your wedding! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, laughter and togetherness. May Allah bless your beautiful journey with endless joy and countless blessings. So happy for you both. Congratulations once again!”The private ceremony was attended by Aamir Khan’s three children as well as Gauri Spratt’s son. Aamir was previously married to film producer Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children, Junaid and Ira Khan. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005. Although the two separated in 2021, they continue to co-parent their son, Azad.
