The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the round 3 seat allotment result for the 2026 counselling process. Candidates who registered for counselling can now check their allotment status by visiting the official website, josaa.nic.in.To access the result, candidates need to log in using their Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 application number, password and security pin.Candidates who have been allotted a seat in round 3 must complete the online reporting process, including fee payment, document upload and responding to any verification queries, within the prescribed deadline.
JoSAA round 3 counselling schedule
According to the official schedule:
- Online reporting (fee payment, document upload and query response) will continue till July 8, 2026.
- The last date to resolve fee payment issues and respond to document verification queries is July 9, 2026.
- The seat withdrawal/exit option will be available from July 7 to July 8, 2026.
- The last date to respond to withdrawal-related queries is July 9, 2026.
- Round 4 seat allotment result will be declared on July 10, 2026.
Seat acceptance fee
Candidates who accept their allotted seat will have to pay the seat acceptance fee as follows:
- General, Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates: Rs 35,000
- Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates: Rs 15,000
Freeze, float and slide options
Candidates can choose one of the following options after accepting their allotted seat:
- Freeze: Choose this option if you are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not want to participate in further rounds.
- Float: Select this option if you want to keep the current seat but wish to be considered for a better institute in the upcoming rounds.
- Slide: Choose this option if you want a better course or branch in the same institute.
JoSAA has advised candidates to regularly check the counselling portal for document verification updates and complete all admission formalities on time. Failure to do so may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat.
How to check JoSAA round 3 seat allotment result 2026
Candidates can follow these steps to download their allotment result:
- Visit the official website, josaa.nic.in.
- Click on the “JoSAA Round 3 Seat Allotment Result 2026” link on the homepage.
- Enter your JEE Main 2026 application number, password and security pin.
- Click on the submit button.
- Your seat allotment result will appear on the screen.
- Download the allotment letter and take a printout for future reference.
