Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu visited deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday, a day after the latter underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder.Naidu met Pawan Kalyan, his wife Anna Konidala, and the team of doctors treating him to enquire about his health. Accompanied by ministers Narayana and Anagani Satya Prasad, the chief minister was informed that the surgery was successful and that Pawan Kalyan’s condition is stable.Speaking to the media after the visit, Naidu said the three-and-a-half-hour surgery was performed successfully by a team of specialist doctors. He said Pawan Kalyan has been advised to take adequate rest and undergo three weeks of physiotherapy before resuming official duties. The chief minister said Pawan Kalyan was suffering from severe injuries in both shoulders for several years but continued to remain actively involved in public service without seeking timely treatment. According to Naidu, the injuries worsened over time due to extensive public tours and frequent physical interactions with supporters, making surgery unavoidable.Doctors have also identified a problem in Pawan Kalyan’s left shoulder. They plan to review its condition after six months to determine whether surgery will be required or if physiotherapy will be sufficient.Naidu said Pawan Kalyan’s recovery is progressing well and that he is expected to return to public life after completing rehabilitation. He added that despite being advised to take adequate rest, the deputy chief minister expressed his eagerness to resume his official responsibilities at the earliest.
