Most of us think a lighter life means owning fewer things, taking more holidays, or somehow becoming less busy. But often, the real weight has nothing to do with our schedules or wardrobes. It is the invisible stuff we carry around every day: old disappointments, other people’s expectations, guilt, resentment, and the constant pressure to have everything under control.
The strange thing is that we get so used to carrying these things that they start to feel normal. We call it being responsible, caring, or ambitious, even when it is quietly making us tired.
If life has been feeling heavier than usual, it may not be because you need to do more. You may simply need to put a few things down.
