New Delhi: Two associates of the Himanshu Bhau-Vicky Hadal have been arrested in connection with the murder of Joginder aka Kala in Bawana. With their arrest, Delhi Police claims to have foiled another planned targeted killing.The accused, identified as Harsh Vasne (19) and Vipin (20), were wanted in the July 18 murder of 45-year-old Joginder, who was shot at least six times.Special commissioner of police (crime) HGS Dhaliwal said the Himanshu Bhau-Vicky Hadal gang has emerged as a major threat in Delhi and adjoining areas, which have been involved in murders, attempted murders, extortion and violent property disputes.Recently, a crime branch team under DCP Chandra Kumar Singh got information that the duo would be travelling on a stolen scooter along the Bawana Canal parallel road on July 29 to carry out another targeted attack.A trap was laid, but as police moved to intercept them, Harsh allegedly fired at ASI Praveen Dahiya. The bullet struck the officer’s bulletproof jacket, narrowly preventing serious injury. Vipin then attempted to flee but their scooter skidded after police fired at its rear tyre. Both were overpowered and arrested.Police seized two semi-automatic pistols, live cartridges, a stolen scooter and a diary containing the names of two alleged targets identified as Pawan Aggarwal and Surender Gupta.During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they were recruited by Himanshu Bhau and Vicky Hadal, who promised them money to avenge the murder of Vicky Hadal’s family members by targeting Dharmender Dabas and his associates.
