Travis Hunter walked into his second NFL training camp looking noticeably different, and fans immediately clocked it. Photos comparing his rookie season jersey fit to his current one started circulating online, and the internet had a field day pointing out his bigger arms, broader frame, and fresh haircut. Some fans joked he barely changed anything besides ditching his sleeves, while others couldn’t stop talking about the new muscle. Either way, Travis Hunter’s glow-up became one of the more entertaining storylines of Jaguars camp this summer.
Fans can’t stop talking about Travis Hunter’s bigger arms
It started when pages started posting side-by-side photos of Hunter in his Jaguars jersey from Year 1 versus now, captioned “Year 1 ➡️ Year 2.” The comments filled up fast. One fan tweeted, “Son got his weight up,” clearly clocking the bicep difference.Others weren’t as convinced there was much of a change at all, with one fan writing, “People were really saying he looked the same too,” and another adding, “crazy what having ur arms out and ur elbows tucked can do for the sake of a picture.” Whether people believed the transformation was real or just a good camera angle, everyone had an opinion.Turns out the bigger arms are very real. Hunter reportedly packed on about ten pounds of muscle this offseason, according to his own head coach. It came out of necessity more than vanity: Hunter spent months recovering from surgery on a torn LCL, and since he couldn’t run, the weight room became his outlet. “It wasn’t a focus,” Hunter said. “It was me going in there and getting my overall body right and getting in shape. Because I couldn’t run, the weight room was my best friend.”
The bigger arms actually made him faster, not slower

Here’s the twist that’s making the whole thing even funnier to fans: Hunter was worried the added bulk would slow him down, not speed him up. “I was scared at first,” he admitted, worried he’d feel heavy and lose the explosiveness that made him a Heisman winner.Instead, the opposite happened. Hunter clocked 22.6 mph on the field this camp, a top speed only matched by NFL burners Tyreek Hill and Raheem Mostert. His coach even said Hunter told him he feels lighter on his feet now, despite carrying more muscle than last season. So while fans are busy joking about his new physique in the comments, Hunter is out there quietly proving the bigger biceps came with a bonus: he’s somehow faster than before. For a player who’s already used to doubters after every viral clip from camp, this might be one storyline where the jokes and the results are both working in his favor.
