‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is still months away from its relaese and the leaks just don’t stop coming. The newly leaked images allegedly from Marvel Studios’ have sparked fresh speculation about Doctor Strange’s role in the upcoming multiverse epic, with one mysterious costume raising eyebrows.
New ‘Avengers: Doomsday ‘ images leak online
The images, which have been circulating online, show a group of hooded, masked sorcerers dressed in elaborate robes. One figure appears in a purple hood with a gold mask, chains and medallions, while another wears a green costume with silver detailing. A third figure, dressed in brown robes, has a circular opening in the forehead of the mask, a detail that has fans speculating Doctor Strange’s involvement. Months after early artwork teased the character played by Benedict Cumberbatch, having a central role in the film, fans think the latest costume has confirmed his presence.The events of ‘Doctor Strange’ in the Multiverse of Madness’, that saw Strange with a mystical third eye on his forehead. Interestingy, the new leaked images feature a masked character with a hole on his forehead.Although Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the identities of the figures also seen at Comic-Con 2026, social media has been abuzz about the identities of the robed characters.
Is Doctor Strange working for Doctor Doom ?
The apparent connection between Strange and Doctor Doom has fuelled theories, suggesting that Strange has become associated with Doom’s mystical forces in the aftermath of the multiverse crisis. The latest images follow a series of alleged Doomsday leaks that have surfaced online throughout 2026.Some earlier leaked material showed Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, with the villain appearing alongside Sentinels that eventually turned out to be true.There have also been previous costume and concept-art leaks depicting characters apparently under Doom’s rule.
Scarlet Witch to return?
Elizabeth Olsen is also expected to reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, although her character met her demise in the events of ‘Multiverse of Madness’. Alleged images circulating online have added to speculation about Wanda’s place in the film’s mystical storyline.
Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man also reportedly returns
At a time with Tom Holland‘s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has registered a USD 1 billion hit at the box office, speculation surrounding Spider-Man’s return has been doing the rounds. However, this time, rumours are rife that Tobey Maguire will reprise his role as Peter Parker.In a recent Q&A, Marvel scooper Alex Perez was asked whether Maguire’s Spider-Man would survive both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. Perez reportedly responded, “That’s a question best served for another time. But I can confirm from sources he’s in both movies.”Online reports have subsequently claimed that Maguire will return as the Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man in both films and could appear in the iconic Iron Spider suit.
About ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
The film is expected to bring together an unusually large collection of Marvel characters, including returning Avengers, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four.With the Russo Brothers directing, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 18, 2026.
