More than six years after Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence, his sister Shweta Singh Kirti has reiterated her belief that the actor was murdered. Shweta claimed that multiple psychics had told her there was “foul play” involved in Sushant’s death and said several questions surrounding the case remain unanswered.
Shweta recalls feeling Sushant’s presence after his death
Speaking about how she coped with the actor’s death in a recent conversation with YouTube channel Supertalks by The Movingship, Shweta revealed that she experienced what she described as Sushant’s presence after his demise. She said she would sometimes feel him through dreams and meditation, including an experience around the time his ashes were kept for immersion in Patna.Shweta recalled lying in a room when she felt that her brother had come to meet her.“That night, he came to talk to me. He was wearing something made of jute and was dressed in a kurta-like outfit. He hugged me and spoke to me for hours. I had so many questions for him. I asked, ‘Brother, why did this happen?’ I asked him about many things, and he explained everything to me,” she said.She added that the experience gave her a sense of emotional closure after she had been left with numerous unanswered questions following his death.“Somehow, all the knots and complexities inside me began to untangle. Finally, he hugged and kissed me, and I could feel his scent, his breath—everything,” Shweta recalled.
Shweta was in California when she received news of Sushant’s death
Shweta also opened up about the moment she learned that her brother had died. She revealed that she was in California when she received the news and described her immediate reaction as one of shock.According to Shweta, her body went numb after hearing about Sushant’s death, before she eventually broke down and started crying loudly.She also said that the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from travelling to India at the time. As a result, she could not be physically present to say a final goodbye to her brother.The inability to attend his final rites, she suggested, made the grief and lack of closure even more difficult to process.
Shweta questions circumstances surrounding Sushant’s death
Shweta also questioned several aspects of the circumstances surrounding Sushant’s death, including the post-mortem and the fact that his room was reportedly locked from inside.“It’s been six years, we still do not know what really happened. What was the hurry for post mortem? He never used to lock his room. How was his room locked from inside? There are several unanswered questions,” she said.“Something was not right. Something was wrong,” she added.Shweta further claimed that Sushant was deeply disturbed after the death of Disha Salian, his former manager, who died after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai.“After Disha Salian’s death, he was very much disturbed. He kept saying that they will not even spare him. I don’t know. Maybe he had some information he was about to come out with. Maybe something like that,” she stated.When asked whether Sushant’s reference to “they” meant people from Bollywood, Shweta said, “We do not know that.”
‘We do not need a closure from CBI now’, says Shweta
Shweta also said that she no longer needs closure from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), claiming that she and her family already know what happened.“We do not need a closure from CBI now, we know what had happened. Whatever they are doing, maybe cover-up, we know in our hearts what happened. There was some kind of cover-up,” she said.She added that she now wants to focus on celebrating her brother’s life and legacy rather than keeping the pain of his death alive.“After we know that there was some foul play. What do we do? Should we keep this wound open or should we live Sushant?” she said.
