Vibhuvana Chaturthi 2026: Significance

Chaturthi holds a great religious significance among Hindus. The day is considered highly auspicious. This is the extra Adhik Maas chaturthi which is known as Vibhuvana Chaturthi. As this is Adhik Maas Sankashti Chaturthi so people are advised to get engaged in various religious and spiritual practices so that they can gain the maximum benefits of observing fast and doing these sacred activities. This fast can fulfill all the desired wishes of the devotees and Lord Ganesha is known as the remover of all obstacles so devotees who will worship him with devotion will be blessed by the Lord Ganesha. According to Bhavishya Purana and Narasimha Purana, there are total 13 Sankashti Chaturthi fasts in a year and they are associated with each form of Ganesha.According to the Shiva Purana, people who observe Sankashti Chaturthi with dedication are offered serenity, prosperity, and spiritual advancement in addition to being set free from difficulties. According to the Brahmavaivarta Purana, Lord Ganesha is a manifestation of ultimate consciousness and the son of Shiva and Parvati. It is said that worshiping Him on Chaturthi will grant the devotee wisdom (jnana) and intellect (buddhi).

Vibhuvana Chaturthi 2026: Step-by step Puja Vidhi

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals. 2. You should clean your puja room and then set up an altar. 3. Place an idol of Lord Ganesha on that wooden plank and light a diya with desi ghee in front of an idol. 4. Adorn him with yellow flowers and offer boondi laddoo. 5. Devotees must offer him durva grass if they want to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. 6. Invoke the idol by chanting various Ganesha mantras. 7. Recite Bindayak story and Sankasthi story.8. Complete the puja rituals by reciting the Ganesha aarti.
