T’puram: Pushing for use of technology among lawmakers, BJP state president and Nemom MLA Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that lack of knowledge cannot be an excuse for legislators to distance themselves from technology.“Any legislator who says, ‘I don’t understand technology’ and stops there is not being humble, they are being negligent. Curiosity is a legislative duty. That was my message to fellow legislators at the e-Niyamasabha orientation programme in the state assembly,” he said in a social media post. “We have moved from digitization to digitalization, and now to intelligent governance. AI and data-driven systems are reshaping policymaking, governance and public service,” he added.Chandrasekhar said understanding and leveraging technology was no longer a choice for any legislator. “It is our legislative duty. A #VikasitaKeralam can only be built through technology-driven, transparent and citizen-centric governance,” he said.At the orientation programme for legislators organized by the legislative assembly, Chandrasekhar said the governance systems have now entered the era of intelligent governance. This is a period when AI and data-driven systems are transforming policymaking, governance and public service delivery, he said.
