Kochi: Two young men died after their two-wheeler first rammed a car that stopped at a traffic signal and a tanker truck in Nedumbassery on Sunday morning.The deceased were identified as Adithyan, 24, and Kapil, 24, both natives of Pathanamthitta.The youngsters, who are friends, were killed after the two-wheeler went out of control at Athani near Nedumbassery around 6am. It first crashed into the car and then rammed a truck that halted ahead of it. The front portion of the two-wheeler was mangled in impact of the crash.Police said Adithyan died on the spot, while Kapil, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.Nedumbassery police have registered a case. Police said an investigation was on to find the exact reason for the accident.Even though it was rash driving, sources said the area where the crash occurred was an accident hotspot. Officials said both the nature of the road and whether rain played a part in the accident will be investigated.The bodies were handed over to their kin after an autopsy.
