Chennai: Chennai Mayor R Priya lodged a complaint with the cybercrime wing of the city police, stating that unidentified people subjected her to repeated online harassment by circulating morphed videos and posting defamatory content on social media to damage her reputation.According to the complaint, the online harassment continued for the past few days, causing her mental distress. The complaint stated that the individuals repeatedly contacted her, monitored her social media activity and circulated derogatory comments, morphed images and videos.Mayor Priya initially submitted an online complaint and then met commissioner of police A Amalraj and lodged a written complaint requesting that legal action be initiated. The complaint also listed multiple social media accounts which shared or circulated the objectionable content.Investigators are examining the social media posts, digital evidence and account activity to identify those responsible for creating or disseminating the content.
