Rockstar Games could release the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI next month. According to a report by TweakTown, industry insider Tom Henderson claims the next marketing update may arrive around Take-Two Interactive’s upcoming earnings call. While Henderson said he has no concrete evidence, he expects the timing to follow Rockstar’s previous marketing pattern.“I reckon we’re getting GTA 6 trailer on August 6,” Henderson said during a recent podcast. His prediction comes as fans continue waiting for a new trailer after Rockstar released the second GTA 6 trailer in May 2025 and began pre-orders earlier this year.
Why Rockstar may launch GTA 6 trailer 3 in August
Henderson said his prediction is based on Rockstar and Take-Two’s history of aligning major announcements with investor events rather than on insider confirmation.Take-Two Interactive is scheduled to hold its next earnings call on August 7, leading some fans to speculate that a new trailer could be released shortly before or on the same day.The discussion has also gained attention after Take-Two increased copyright enforcement against AI-generated GTA 6 videos on YouTube. Several fan-made videos featuring Lucia and Jason were removed following DMCA notices, although some similar videos remain online. It should be noted that some players think these takedowns may mean that Rockstar is ready to launch its marketing campaign, but Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not confirmed this hypothesis yet.
Fans are waiting for gameplay footage
GTA 6’s first trailer was released in December 2023, and the second one appeared in May 2025. It is noteworthy that both trailers featured mainly cinematic moments.Rockstar previously confirmed that footage shown in the first trailer was captured in-game rather than being pre-rendered. However, a former Rockstar developer has cautioned that trailer footage often represents a polished version of the final game.As a result, many players hope that the third trailer, if released, will offer a closer look at gameplay systems rather than another cinematic presentation.
GTA 6 to launch in November
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19 after being delayed from its original 2025 release window.Pre-orders have been available since late June, with reports suggesting PlayStation 5 pre-orders are currently outpacing Xbox by roughly 6:1.If Rockstar follows its previous marketing schedule, a new trailer ahead of Take-Two’s earnings presentation would leave the company with several months to promote the game before its planned November release. For now, however, Rockstar Games has not announced a release date for GTA 6 Trailer 3, and Henderson’s August prediction remains speculation rather than a confirmed launch window.
