Suvinder Vicky’s portrayal in ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ caught audiences off guard, particularly his scenes as Arjun Rampal’s father, where he unleashes a barrage of abuses at the actor’s character. Interestingly, Vicky himself had doubts about whether his profanity-heavy dialogues would survive the censoring process.The actor even suggested that director Aditya Dhar turn his character mute, believing that his scenes would be filled with beeps. However, Dhar remained confident that the dialogues would make it to the final cut.Vicky credited Dhar, the writers and himself for the impact of the character. He said in an interview with Hindustan Times, “I’m lucky to work with great directors. In this, the credit goes to Aditya Dhar and to me also because I also gave my hundred per cent effort. Also, galiyon ka shrey hamare script writer ko bhi jayega (The credit for all the abusive language would also go to our screenwriter), because I didn’t make any of those; that was all written in the script.“Vicky also recalled discussing the character with Dhar before filming. “I told Aditya that my whole dialogue will be a big beep; he should have instead made me play a mute character in the film because I’m abusing so much. But he told me confidently that nothing will be cut.”With Dhar assuring him that the dialogues would remain intact, Vicky considered improvising some of the abuses. However, the director drew a line when it came to certain references. Vicky recalled, “Then I thought that since nothing would be cut, I would improvise, but Aditya stopped me in that moment. He said we will not go to mothers and sisters. It is also our responsibility not to hurt sentiments in films.” Some reports, however, have claimed that the film still contains expletives referring to family members.Vicky also opened up about his equation with Rampal, revealing that he warned the actor about the nature of their scenes before shooting them. The two had previously worked together in ‘Satluj’. Recalling their conversation, Vicky said, “We shared an equation because before Dhurandhar, we had worked in Satluj together. When I warned him about my dialogues in the film, he told me, ‘It is part of life, camera ke samne faad de’ (It is part of life; give it everything in front of the camera),”‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ continues the story of Ranveer Singh’s Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who transforms into the feared Hamza Ali Mazari.
