Noida: A 52-year-old woman died by suicide after jumping from the seventh floor of a high-rise residential society in Sector 78 on Monday morning. The woman, a resident of Vikas Nagar in Delhi, had come to stay with her sister around three days before the incident.Around 8am, the woman told her family she was going out for a walk. She instead went to the tower’s seventh floor and jumped with the help of a plastic stool. A security guard heard a loud thud and found her body. He alerted her family and other residents, who then called the emergency helpline number 112.Sector 113 SHO Pramod Kumar said a team reached the spot and initiated an investigation. No suicide note has been recovered so far.Investigation revealed that the woman’s husband had died and her two children live with their families in Gurgaon. Her sister’s family told cops that she had been suffering from depression and the family had asked her to stay with them so she would not be alone.Autopsy results are awaited and further legal proceedings are underway. Investigators are also speaking to family members to establish the circumstances leading to the death, police said.On Sunday, a 24-year-old woman was found hanging at a house in Illahabas village. Police said they received information about the incident via Dial-112 and a team was sent to the spot. A forensic team and field unit inspected the scene and collected relevant evidence. The body was also sent for post-mortem examination.Police said the incident appears to be a case of suicide, but they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
