National Award-winning Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has set social media ablaze following a highly cryptic online update from acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker and actor Basil Joseph. While official confirmation regarding a pan-India collaboration remains under wraps, the ‘Minnal Murali’ director recently shared a viral Instagram story featuring an “Icon” cap paired with a hit track from ‘Arya 2’, driving fans to believe that the long-rumored project, tentatively titled ‘AA24’ is officially in motion.
Basil Joseph’s ‘Icon’ post adds fuel to ‘AA24’ rumours
The buzz began when Basil Joseph shared a picture of a cap carrying the word “Icon,” a title closely associated with Allu Arjun. He also added a popular song from ‘Arya 2’ to the story, making fans even more convinced that the post was connected to the Pushpa star. Soon after, social media was flooded with discussions about the rumoured collaboration, with many referring to the project as #AA24. While the post has certainly grabbed attention, there has been no official confirmation from either Basil Joseph or Allu Arjun regarding the film.
Rumoured collaboration expected after Allu Arjun completes current commitments
If Basil Joseph’s project materialises, it could begin only after Allu Arjun completes his ongoing commitments. The actor is currently working on ‘Raaka,’ directed by Atlee, one of his most ambitious films featuring extensive CGI and visual effects. He is also expected to team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for another high-profile project, ‘AA23,’ which has already generated huge excitement following the recently released look test video. Earlier rumours had linked Basil Joseph’s film to the shelved ‘Shaktimaan’ project, but writer Arun Anirudhan clarified that the reported collaboration would be an entirely new story and not connected to the superhero film.
Fans eagerly await an official announcement on ‘AA24’
If the collaboration becomes official, it will mark the first time Basil Joseph and Allu Arjun work together, making it one of the most anticipated combinations in South Indian cinema. Basil Joseph, who won praise for directing ‘Minnal Murali,’ has built a strong reputation for blending commercial entertainment with fresh storytelling. He was last seen in ‘Athiradi’ alongside Tovino Thomas and also made a cameo appearance in ‘Mollywood Times.’ For now, the “Icon” post remains just a tease, but it has been enough to keep fans talking as they wait for an official announcement about the much-discussed ‘AA24’ project.
