Gharami arrived at the crease when the team needed stability and went on to play a major role in pulling them out of trouble. He shared a 92-run stand with Kumar Kushagra for the third wicket before another mini-collapse left East Zone at 138 for five. Gharami then joined hands with Shahbaz Ahmed to add 150 runs for the sixth wicket. His innings contained 25 fours and a six from 185 balls and was his ninth first-class hundred. With Shahbaz unbeaten on 100, East Zone have a strong platform to push for a big first-innings total on Day 2.
