Lalit Parimoo, who won hearts as the iconic scientist Dr Jaikaal in the beloved superhero series ‘Shaktimaan’ and has also delivered memorable performances in films like ‘Haider’ and ‘Agent Vinod’, has now stepped into this ongoing conversation. The actor offered some honest and heartfelt advice to young star kids like Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor, who are no strangers to criticism when it comes to their acting abilities.
Lalit Parimoo tells Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Panday to focus on learning acting
During his appearance on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast, Lalit was asked what he would say to star kids like Janhvi, Ananya and Shanaya, given the criticism they regularly face over their acting. The actor kept his response simple and direct, saying that the best thing they could do was focus on honing their craft and learning the art of acting. He said, “Seekh lo acting. Thoda sa jhuk ke, 2-3 saal acting seekhne main laga lo. Lekin dikkat yeh hai ki agar aap ek bade parivaar se hain to woh seekhne ka jazba nahi hota hai. Woh tab aata hai jab aap mein arthik kamiyan ho (Learn acting. Spend two or three years working hard and learning the craft properly. But the problem is that if you come from a big, influential family, that drive to learn is often not there. That hunger usually comes when you’ve faced financial hardships and limitations).”Elaborating on his point, Lalit stressed that acting is an art form at its core and cannot be approached like a business right from the start. He acknowledged that in today’s world, people can learn to stay relevant through social media presence, fashion choices and physical appearance, but maintained that none of that can replace the need for an actor to nurture and develop the artist within. He also candidly admitted that he has not kept a close eye on the work of many younger actors, adding that he still prefers going back to the classics and watching the timeless performances of legendary stars like Dilip Kumar and Rajesh Khanna.

When the conversation turned to his Mubarakan co-star Arjun Kapoor and the online trolling he has been subjected to, Lalit did not hold back. He said, “They are fortunate to come from such families and have become actors. But it’s very sad. Can’t say that they don’t know acting at all. That would be unfair. They are acting, and people learn through practice and experience. Even our Sanjay Dutt saab and Abhishek Bachchan have gone through that journey and improved over time.”
