Ahead of its official India debut, Nissan’s all-new Tekton has already achieved the highest five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP). The certification appeared on the BNCAP portal before the SUV’s launch, putting its crash safety credentials in the spotlight even before Nissan revealed the model. The same listing also offered the first clear glimpse of the Tekton’s exterior design, effectively unveiling the SUV ahead of schedule.
The Nissan Tekton scored 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It secured 14.49 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and the full 16 out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the SUV received 45 out of 49 points. It earned the maximum 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 for Child Restraint System (CRS) installation, while scoring 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment category. The BNCAP listing also revealed the Tekton’s exterior design before its official unveiling.
