Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh shared a special birthday message for his mentee Abhishek Sharma on Friday, wishing the India opener a year full of runs and centuries.Yuvraj has played a big role in Abhishek’s journey to international cricket. The youngster has gone on to become the No. 1 T20I batter and has made his mark in India’s T20 setup.Sharing a light-hearted video on Instagram, Yuvraj wrote a message for Abhishek, who turned 26.“Sir Abhishek, it’s your birthday. What an auspicious day. Love the person you have become – sharing and caring for those around you, and a leader! Always learning from your failures and willing to put in more hard work each time! Wishing you a year of runs and tons! Lots of love always,”The video showed the bond between the two, with Yuvraj teasing Abhishek during a training session. In one clip, Yuvraj made Abhishek do sit-ups while asking him to promise he would not play a rash shot on the first ball.“Bol mai pehli ball te lappa nahi maaranga,” Yuvraj said as Abhishek held his ears while doing sit-ups.“Mai pehli ball te lift nahi maranga,” Abhishek replied.The video also included moments of Yuvraj, Abhishek and Sanju Samson watching Wimbledon from the stands. In another clip, Yuvraj asked Abhishek:“Kya chahiye aapko?” Abhishek replied: “Aapka Aashirwaad,” to which Yuvraj said: “Always”.Abhishek has already made an impact in T20 internationals. He has scored two centuries and 11 half-centuries in 55 innings for India.He also holds the second-fastest T20I century by an Indian, reaching the landmark in 37 balls against England last year. Only Rohit Sharma has scored a faster T20I hundred for India, taking 35 balls against Sri Lanka in 2017.Abhishek will next be seen in India’s three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in New Delhi. He will be looking to improve on a mixed run in recent series against Ireland, England and Zimbabwe.The left-hander has scored just one half-century in his last 10 T20I innings and has been dismissed in single digits in each of his last four innings.
