The makers of the film ‘Thudakkam’ have released the trailer of the much-awaited action thriller which marks the acting debut of Vismaya Mohanlal, daughter of Malayalal cinema legend Mohanlal. Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the film is all set to hit theatres worldwide this weekend.

The 1 minute 35 second trailer introduces Meenu, played by Vismaya Mohanlal, who lives with her father, played by Sai Kumar, in a beautiful house surrounded by hills. Their simple life is filled with happy moments, light-hearted conversations and time spent with family and friends.The trailer then takes a darker mood as Meenu’s life changes unexpectedly. Fear and danger slowly enter her world, turning the emotional family drama into an intense action thriller.The makers keep the story under wraps but offer enough suspense to leave audiences curious. The trailer ends with a brief glimpse of one of Mohanlal’s iconic sharp eyes.

Along with Vismaya Mohanlal and Sai Kumar, the film also stars Aashish Joe Antony, Bobby Kurian, Manoj K Jayan, KB Ganesh Kumar, Aswin, Essa, Kottayam Ramesh, Jaya Kurup and Jaffar Idukki in important roles.

With ‘Thudakkam’, Vismaya follows in the footsteps of her father Mohanlal and her brother Pranav Mohanlal by entering the film industry as an actor. She also comes from a well-known film family through her mother, Suchitra Mohanlal, who is the daughter of veteran producer K. Balaji.‘Thudakkam’ is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on August 7.

Meanwhile, speaking of Mohanlal’s work, he was last seen in the suspense crime drama film ‘Drishyam 3’. The film tells the story of Mohanlal’s character Georgekutty who has adapted his past life and it turns into a heavy psychological drama involving themes of guilt, paranoia and the toll of constant fear.Released on May 21, ‘Drishyam 3’ went on to make over Rs 239 crore worldwide as per trade analyst Sacnilk.
