Nearly seven weeks after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026, lakhs of students are still waiting for their results, with anxiety steadily mounting across social media. The last examination was held on May 21, 2026. As of July 9, 2026, it has been 49 days since the exams ended, yet CBSE has not announced the date and time for the declaration of the results. While the board has remained silent on an official schedule, multiple reports indicate that the results are likely to be released this week, although no formal confirmation has been issued. The prolonged wait has prompted students and parents to flood X (formerly Twitter), questioning the delay and expressing concern over pending Class 11 admissions.
Over 6.68 lakh students await results
The second board examination, conducted between May 15 and May 21, was introduced under CBSE’s new two-board examination system, giving eligible students another opportunity to improve their scores within the same academic session.According to CBSE data, 6,68,854 candidates registered for the examination. This included 5,25,655 improvement candidates, 85,285 compartment candidates, and 57,914 students who fell under both categories.Once declared, the board will prepare the final result using the best-of-two policy, under which the higher score obtained by a student in either the first or second board examination will be considered for the final marksheet.
Parents and students question the delay
With admissions to Class 11 already underway in many schools, several parents say the delay has created uncertainty regarding stream allocation and fee payments.X user Rabia Hasan (@Rabiahasan368) wrote that her child had scored 81.4 per cent in the first board examination and was waiting for the second board result to secure admission to the Science stream.“Dear CBSE, My child scored 81.4% in the Class 10 First Term Board Exam and wants the Science stream. The second exam result is still pending, and schools are not confirming admission. Please release the results urgently.”Another user, Rahul Mehta (@rahul_rvm82), questioned why the result had taken so long despite the examination concluding weeks ago.“What is going on in CBSE? Why result of Second Board exams of class 10 is pending for so long?”He also alleged that students were bearing the consequences of the delay, pointing to schools beginning Class 11 fee calculations from April while many admissions remain pending.Similarly, Mangesh Sharma (@Mangesh13377364) tagged Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and CBSE, requesting an early declaration of the results.“The CBSE 2026 Second Board Exam result has not yet came… examination was conducted on 21st May 2026. Dear Sir kindly help.”Another X user, DINO (@DeependraEngg), highlighted the financial burden on parents, saying schools are collecting fees from April even though many students are still waiting for confirmation of admission after the second board results. The concern is also reflected across online student communities, where candidates say the uncertainty is affecting their Class 11 admissions and academic planning.
