NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry officials met with the national sports federation, current and former race drivers and other stakeholders to discuss the revival and development of Formula 1 and motorsports in India. It will also identify key priorities, infrastructure requirements, and operational needs necessary for the sustainable development of the sector and submit its recommendations to the Sports Ministry.Based on the findings, a comprehensive policy framework will be developed to promote and strengthen motorsports in India. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said they expect the task force to share a report in three months and a policy to be framed in six months. He also explained that the Sports Ministry will look at taking motorsport to different parts of the country. While the Formula 1 race will be targeted for Greater Noida, more venues will be explored for other races.
