Indian Army chief General Dhiraj Seth on Tuesday called on Nepal Prime Minister and defence minister Balendra Shah and discussed ways to strengthen military relations. He is on a three-day tour of Nepal.“The General paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Prime Minister of Nepal, during which he engaged in a warm and fruitful discussion on strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries,” Indian embassy in Nepal said on X on Tuesday.Gen Seth, who was given the honorary rank of General of the Nepali Army a day before, also visited the Nepali Army Command and Staff College in Shivpuri, where he shared his insights with the faculty and student officers on professional military education and contemporary security challenges.Speaking on “Evolving Dynamics of Modern Warfare and its Implications on Junior Leadership”, the Army chief highlighted the growing significance of technology, information and multi-domain operations in contemporary conflicts.Nepal’s leaders have traditionally attached importance to early engagement with New Delhi, reflecting the close political and economic relations between the neighbours. However, Nepal PM Shah has not undertaken any visit to India till now. Instead, foreign minister Shisir Khanal made back-to-back visits to New Delhi and Beijing in June.
