Musiala goes down minutes after scoring
The incident came in the closing stages of Bayern’s 3-1 victory at the Allianz Arena, just minutes after Musiala had scored the hosts’ third goal.In the 81st minute, Musiala finished off a move created by summer signing Ismael Saibari, who was making his first appearance for Bayern following his move from PSV Eindhoven.But shortly afterwards, the mood inside the stadium changed completely.Musiala went down in the opposition half and appeared to lose consciousness for a brief period. Saibari immediately rushed towards him and called for the medical team, while several Bayern players gathered around their team-mate.Referee Robert Hartmann stopped the match as the emergency doctor ran onto the pitch. Bayern provide update after worrying episode
Bayern captain Manuel Neuer said after the match that the club was still waiting for a clearer understanding of what had happened.“It will become clear what it was. Musiala was not Bayern’s only injury concern
The episode involving Musiala was one of several injury scares Bayern experienced during their penultimate pre-season friendly.Konrad Laimer was forced off earlier after a challenge with Leipzig’s David Raum left him in severe pain around his right leg, with the thigh or knee appearing to be affected.Eberl explained that Laimer had taken a knock and that his foot had quickly swollen, prompting Bayern to remove him as a precaution.“Konny took a knock pretty early, and his foot also swelled up pretty quickly. That’s why we took him off as a precaution,” Eberl said.He added that Laimer had reached a point where he could no longer walk without support and was not moving freely.“I really can’t say today how long it will take,” Eberl said.Min-jae Kim was also substituted after just over an hour because of thigh problems, meaning Bayern finished the match with several concerns despite securing another pre-season victory.
