Kolkata: Trinamool Beleghata MLA Kunal Ghosh was questioned by Hare Street police on Wednesday over complaints that he caused a road blockage at Esplanade while taking measurements for the July 21 rally. Ghosh said he was not holding any political programme and called the notice an example of how Bengal had turned into a “police state”. He said the visit took place on a rainy Sunday afternoon, without blocking traffic, and only involved checking measurements after applying for police permission. Ghosh added that he had cooperated, answered questions, and submitted photos showing an empty road and no disruption.
