Jaipur: The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) will set up jammers at 20 exam centres for the women supervisor exam scheduled on July 24.Officials said that this is being done as a pilot test to further strengthen security measures at exam centres.Officials added that the aim is to block any means of cheating through Bluetooth or any other gadgets at exam centres.“A pilot test will be done by deploying jammers at 20 exam centres — 10 each in urban and rural areas — for the women supervisor exam. While multiple levels of security checks are already in place, still in case during frisking if any candidate manages to take a device or gadget inside the examination hall, then with the jammers in place, attempts for cheating can be blocked,” said Maj Gen (retired) Alok Raj, RSSB chairperson.He added that the board will monitor the effectiveness of installing jammers, whether mobile signals are completely blocked or not.“If we find the new system is effective in blocking all signals, then a tender process will be done to implement this for all future exams,” added the chairperson.To curb dummy candidates from appearing in recruitment exams, in Jan 2025 the board introduced biometric verification and face scan. In 2024, the board started collecting handwriting samples to be submitted by candidates at the time of security check during the exam.Officials added that videography of examination centres and halls where exams are conducted has further ensured that if any candidate attempts to cheat in any exam, they can be traced.
