However, the Japanese national did not show up for the hearing at the given time. Chief Judge Lee Ji Min, however, postponed the hearing due to the failure to show up and due to an unclear statement provided online.

While the official date of postponement was set for July 16, the accused yet again failed to show up in court for the case. Seoul Economic Daily reported on the matter and shared that since the woman has yet again refused to show up in court, the case has to be postponed until further notice.A statement from the court read, “Given that A failed to appear for a second time following the 14th, it is difficult to proceed with the trial in her absence. We will postpone and schedule a new date later.”
